Final prints

July 15, 2014 in Uncategorized

It was so hot in the print studios so wasn’t sure these were going to get finished.

Peaks / valleys is made from lead type and Ebb & flow is a mix of wooden and lead type. Both prints took much patience with alignment!

Simple looking but complicated!

July 9, 2014 in Uncategorized

I am on a 2 day letterpress course at the moment. Spent the day positioning my type in a rather complicated fashion. Looking forward to finishing the 2 colour prints tomorrow.

Bookmaking / box making

June 29, 2014 in Uncategorized

I just spent 2 days making boxes for books and objects with the ever patient Meg Richardson.

A clam case for my Home (2014) book and a box full of compartments for printing supplies. A great deal of concentration was required!

Back to printing again

May 27, 2014 in Uncategorized

There’s been a bit of a gap due to hundreds of pieces of work that needed assessing!

Just started thinking about next wlyb exhibition theme = ebb and flow. Beginning with some circles which look a little like continents when they are printed. The nooks and crannies that resemble fjords and rivers are in fact edges of words.

Farming Tuesday – just for a change

April 1, 2014 in Uncategorized

Was sorting out some screen prints this morning and then the sun started to come out. This meant a trip to my rented plot of land on an organic small holding. Spent a lot of time weeding and strimming. Below is the garlic which is doing really well – shame I am allergic to it!

Technical changes

January 4, 2014 in Uncategorized

The website is undergoing some structural changes. It should end up with much of the original content but with room for new material too.
