Bookness 2021–2022

This year-long online course was led by the practitioner Les Bicknell. My ‘books’ spanned paper folding tests, filmed sequences, photographs, letterpress, Letraset and shadows. My final piece was a six-tile installation in the grass on my allotment plot. This was recorded over many months with observations about the passing of time and natural interventions. The pages beneath the tiles were revealed at two points. The first was at the end of the course and the final reveal was in a heat wave the day before I moved away from Leicester and the allotment.
