YSP & Hepworth Gallery

January 12, 2014 in Printmaking, Trips / exhibitions

Went to see some more interesting exhibitions today.

Firstly, Angie Lewin’s prints at YSP. Really informative to see a display case containing some of her pieces of cut lino, sketchbooks, book covers and tests. Her prints were exquisite and included lino cuts, wood cuts, screenprints and lithographs.

Then on to The Hepworth Wakefield. A magnificent concrete block of a building sited right on the water’s edge.

Highlights were some really interesting pieces by Paolozzi – especially an abstract collaged piece, Collage 1951, and a patterny screenprint, Theory of Relativity, 1967.

View from the gallery.
